All - 'Twas a fine weekend affair.  Thanks for making new memories and refreshing the old.  And special thanks to all those who made it happen.

Re future get-togethers, I propose sooner rather than later.  I'm game for a sixtieth, but certainly no later than the forty-fifth, for all the appropriate reasons.  And I'd rather stay in St. Pete to visit with family and friends.

Tom A - Keep on rockin'.  You created just the right mood for Saturday night.

I'll start this off. Please leave your comments. Tell us if you had a great time, lousy time or anything you desire about the reunion. Speaking for the committee, we had a lot of fun organizing this year's reunion. Everything could not have gone smoother. All of us are going through committee withdrawals.

I think everyone had a great time all weekend. I know I did. It's been a while since I've been to a "class of 68" reunion. I'm ready to party again real soon.

We are working on securing a block of rooms right now. I will post all the info on the website as soon as I get it.
Thanks
Tom

Is there a block of discounted rooms available at the Sun Spree?  If so, please provide the details.

Thanks,

As you may have heard the reunion is scheduled for the October 4th Weekend at the Holiday Inn Sun Spree, St Petersburg, Florida. We have set up the website to accept credit card payments for discounted advance ticket purchases. Advance ticket prices are $30.00 per person and $50.00 per couple. After July 1, 2008 the ticket prices will go up. We could sure use your advance ticket payments to help offset our out of pocket expenses. We have also set up a donation button for anyone who would like to donate to the cause and a sponsor page for anyone with businesses that would like to sponsor the reunion.
Advance payments can also be mailed to:

Lakewood High School Class of '68 Alumni
2655 Ulmerton Rd
PO Box 148
Clearwater, FL 33762

Be sure to include your names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses.

You will be able to book rooms, at the Sun Spree, if you are from out of town, or just want to stay there that weekend.

It was so wonderful to see and connect with past classmates at this last reunion. I don't know if I can explain the feeling of looking into the eyes of those that you had your first school and social experiences with (elementary school - Lakewood for me) and those that you laughed with, cryed with, studied with, or just admired from afar (high school). That connection is still there and is strong. If you put it into the perspective of an adult life, it is such a valued and amazing shared experience that we had with each other. Also, the fact that we were having to build and create a new tradition at a new school was a struggle that we all experienced; we were, indeed, pioneers together. I hope those of you who couldn't come or didn't come because it seemed that it may be silly or meaningless will reconsider and plan on attending the 40th reunion for the class of '68 next summer. I think you will be pleasantly surprised, and anyway, I would love to see you. Wendy
